This week the 26th Session of the MAB International Co-ordinating Council took place in the county of Jönköping, Sweden. As a part of the program the delegates were invited to a field trip in the biosphere reserve. We had a lovely day and visited several interesting places in the area:
- Ölmstad – the Birch meadow (biocultural heritage, education, history of the biosphere reserve)
- Skärstad – lake Landsjön (forestry, farming, outdoor education)
- Röttle – industrial history (lake Vättern, tourism, culture)
Thirteen new sites was added to UNESCO´s world network of biosphere reserves during the meeting.
